Our Guides

With a fishing rod in hand since the age of five, John’s passion for the water runs deep. It all began alongside his father, where early mornings and shared stories sparked a lifelong love for the sport. Over the years, John charted his own course, fishing the waters of New Jersey, Virginia, and the Eastern Shore. But it’s Lake Anna, Virginia—his home waters for the past 38 years—where his heart truly lies.

A seasoned angler and expert in live bait fishing, John specializes in targeting striped bass, though he also enjoys pursuing catfish and crappie. His deep knowledge of the lake, combined with his patient, encouraging nature, makes every trip a fun and rewarding experience.

John isn’t just passionate about catching fish—he’s passionate about people. He thrives on teaching others the art of fishing and finds joy in introducing anglers of all ages and abilities to the water, including individuals with special needs. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned pro, a trip with John is more than a charter—it’s a chance to make memories, learn new skills, and share in the thrill of the catch.

Trevor has been fishing since he could walk. He grew up fishing the creeks, streams, ponds, and lakes of West Virginia with his Dad and brother. He has passed on his love of fishing to his kids who can be found on the shores of Virginia streams and ponds and, of course, on the water of Lake Anna. They have been fishing for Stripers at Lake Anna since 2013.

Trevor earned his Coast Guard certified Charter Captain license in the summer of 2024 and has since retired from the corporate life to spend his days chartering fishing trips on Lake Anna. He would love to take you out on a trip whether you are an experienced angler or have never held a fishing rod. He gets pure joy out of helping people of all ages catch their first fish. He is the cook in the family, too, so be sure to ask him for his best Striper recipes.
